Little League Changing Age Determination Date

The Youth Baseball Industry is considering changing the Age Determination Date to August 31.  Most organizations currently use either April 30 or May 1 as their determination date.

By making the date August 31, the same that many schools in many states use for student registration, ensures that no child playing youth baseball will have their next birthday at any point during their final season in that age division.

The Little League International Board of Directors recently passed the new Age Determination Date to August 31.  It will take effect in that league beginning with the 2018 baseball season.

YBN will report when any other youth baseball organizations change their Age Determination Date.
