Boston, MA (January 2016) – Youth Baseball Network (YBN) recently announced that Greater Midwest Baseball (GMB) will join the 2016 YBN National Championship.

The YBN National Championship is an annual ‘tournament of champions’ operated by Youth Baseball Network, a marketing and online media company dedicated to the Youth Baseball Industry. The YBN Championship is played in beautiful, family-friendly Branson, Missouri and features multiple major youth baseball organizations’ 12U National Champions.

GMB is a youth baseball tournament provider based in St. Louis that serves the Greater Midwest area. Established in 2010, GMB had over 4,000 teams play in its events during the 2015 season.

GMB will host a series of qualifying tournaments in Missouri and crown a 12U Missouri State Champion at a special finals’ event. The Missouri champion will participate in the 2016 YBN National Championship as the host state team.

The GMB Missouri State Champions will compete against the best 12U teams in the country. The YBN Championship features National Champions from American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Continental Amateur Baseball Association (CABA), Dizzy Dean Baseball, and National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF). Champions from additional major youth baseball organizations may be added soon.

The 2nd annual YBN National Championship will take place the week of August 16, 2016 at the Branson RecPlex.  The YBN Championship is an invitational tournament with travel and hotel expenses for teams paid by Youth Baseball Network.

In addition to the YBN National Championship, Youth Baseball Network will soon be releasing information regarding the YBN National Youth Baseball Coaches’ and Parents’ Convention. It will occur during ‘Championship Week’ in Branson. To assist with the development of the convention, YBN is partnering with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA).

PCA is a national non-profit developing “Better Athletes, Better People” by working to provide all youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience. PCA will conduct workshops for coaches and industry leaders, plus provide parents’ seminars. An array of guest speakers is also planned.

“We’re excited about bringing the Youth Baseball Industry together in Branson,” states Vieira. “Our goal is to help make Branson the new ‘capital’ of youth baseball.”
