Youth Baseball Network (YBN) will present a special Opening Ceremony for the 2016 YBN National Championship™ at the spectacular Branson Landing in Branson, Missouri.
The second annual YBN National Championship – a tournament of champions – is scheduled for August 16-20, 2016 at the Branson RecPlex. The prestigious tournament offers free admission and showcases the 12U National Champions of several major youth baseball organizations, plus a host team – the 12U Missouri State Champions, crowned by Greater Midwest Baseball of St. Louis.
The ceremony will be a fun, entertaining evening for participating players, their families, youth baseball executives from around the country, and local fans.
The ceremony will be held Wednesday, 17 August at the Landing’s famous Fountains. It will commence at 6:30pm. The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Branson’s Rob McBee of KHOZ / The Z, an Earls Family Broadcasting radio station.
The Branson Landing features a scenic boardwalk along the 1.5-mile Taneycomo Lakefront. At the heart of the Landing is a vibrant town square terracing down to the $7.5 million spectacular water attraction that features the first-ever merging of water, fire, light and music. You will be amazed by the dazzling interplay of water fountains shooting 120-foot geysers and fire cannons blasting, all choreographed to light and music. The water and fire spectacle is a creation of internationally renowned Wet Design, the producers of world-class shows for Downtown Disney marketplace in Orlando, Universal City Walk in California and the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
The 12U champions participating in the tournament represent the following major youth baseball organizations: American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Continental Amateur Baseball Association (CABA), Dizzy Dean Baseball (DDB), National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF), and Greater Midwest Baseball (GMB).
The teams will be transported to the Landing via Branson’s famous duck boats, Ride the Ducks – authentic replicas of the WWII DUKW amphibious vehicles. During WWII the DUKW was used to transport troops and supplies from water to land and back again. The teams will be picked up by the duck boats at the Radisson, host hotel for the Championship, and will take a tour of Branson en route to the Landing.
Entertainment will be plentiful and includes nationally renowned baseball comedian, Domingo Ayala. Domingo was born and raised in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He has toured the country performing at major baseball events and his videos on YouTube are a favorite of baseball fans throughout North America.
There will also be a special collectable pin ceremony. All players will be presented a unique Branson / Youth Baseball Network baseball pin. The pins are provided by the Branson/Lakes Area CVB. Players will also receive pins from each participating organization.
In all, it will be a fun, memorable night for all in attendance, as Youth Baseball Network and Branson kicks off the 2nd annual YBN National Championship.
