AAU Crowns Naples Collier Tigers

The first bid to the inaugural 2015 Youth Baseball Network (YBN) National Championship goes to the 12U Champion from AAU – the Naples Collier Tigers.

The Naples Collier Tigers, based in Naples, FL, won the 2015 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Grand National Championship Baseball tournament for the 12U division on June 27. The Championship was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL.

The Tigers defeated the Southern California Force, 7-3, to win the AAU Championship and earn a berth in the YBN National Championship.  The YBN Championship will be held August 19-22 in Branson, MO.

The Collier Tigers have been a team in existence for over 5 years. The coaching staff includes Head Coach, Jeff Smith, and assistant coaches, Brad King, Darvin Jackson, and Marc Beshears.  The team includes players: Jay Beshears, Dalton Cleveland, Dylan Cleveland, Griffin Hacker, Justin Jackson, Dylan King, Marcus O’Malley, Deuce Mathews, Buddy Packish, Cooper Smith, Reid Sondermeyer, and Tyler Vanderhoef.

Coach Smith is also the manager of the Fort Myers Miracle, the Class A Advanced minor league baseball affiliate of the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball club, based in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Tigers will check into the team hotel, Radisson Hotel Branson, on August 18.  A special YBN Opening Ceremony will take place Wednesday evening (8/19) at 6:30 PM at the beautiful Branson Landing.
