Add a World Series appearance to Michael Conforto’s already impressive résumé.

The New York Mets rookie outfielder became only the third player ever to appear in the Little League World Series, the College World Series, and the Major League Baseball World Series, and just the first to get an RBI in all three.

In 2004, he played in the LLWS with Northwest Regional Champions from Redmond North Little League in Redmond, Washington. He played in the College World Series in 2013 with Oregon State University.

Conforto joined Jason Varitek and Ed Vosberg as the only players to achieve the feat.

Joe Torre Presented with “Good Guy” Award from American Legion

MLB legend Joe Torre is a lot more than just a manager and a baseball player.

Torre, who established the Safe at Home Foundation, which educates the public on violence against children, was honored by the American Legion at its annual convention.

The current MLB Vice President was presented the James V. Day Good Guy Award by a group of wounded veterans who were brought to the luncheon from the Walter Reed Hospital as part of the American Legion Comfort Operation Warriors program.

The award is named after a World War II veteran and prominent Legionnaire James Day, with past recipients including George Foreman, Richard Petty, Dolly Parton, Bud Selig and David Robinson.
