As we prepare for the 2nd Annual Youth Baseball Network National Championship, I’d be remiss if not to pay special homage to the City of Branson and several supportive people and businesses.
First, I can’t thank the Honorable Mayer Karen Best enough for her ongoing support. Her commitment to the City of Branson is obvious – and her love of the game of baseball is a bonus.
Mayor Best continuously shows her interest in Youth Baseball Network and our desire to develop Branson into the new ‘capital’ of youth baseball by supporting our efforts and participating in our events. Last year, Mayor Best sat through a rain delay and two championship games, as we crowned our first YBN National Champion late into the night. This year, she will officially welcome the teams, families and fans at the special YBN Opening Ceremony at the Branson Landing.
In addition, the Branson/Lakes Area Visitors and Convention Bureau has stepped up again to ensure our prestigious championship remains in Branson. Led by President and CEO Jeff Seifried, the CVB is the co-title sponsor of the YBN Championship for a second year, with plans to continue its relationship with YBN and the “Road to Branson” concept for the future, underway. With hands-on involvement of the Director of Sports Marketing & Development, Terra Alphonso, and Director of Communications, Lynn Berry, the relationship between Youth Baseball Network and Branson CVB could not be better. Their support is greatly appreciated.
Another city venue that continues to be supportive of YBN is the Branson RecPlex. Led by Parks and Recreation Director Cindy Shook and her assistant, Jason Reinsch, the RecPlex will be hosting the YBN Championship for the second year. Cindy and Jason’s professionalism and love of the game made 2015 a major success. YBN looks forward to working with them again this year.
In addition, YBN tips its cap to the Branson Landing, Ride the Ducks, Lipco Group, and the Radisson Hotel. Their ongoing support of YBN, plus the organizations, teams, families, and sponsors participating in the championship has been above and beyond. This will be the second year all four have supported our efforts. Salute!
We’ll see you all the week of August 16th, as we prepare for the ultimate youth baseball championship in beautiful, family-friendly Branson.
We invite everyone to the RecPlex to watch multiple 12U National Champions and the Missouri State Champions vying for the crown of YBN National Champions. You’ll be shocked at the level of play of these 12-year old baseball players.
Admission is free at the RecPlex, so you see at the ballpark. Play Ball!
